RHA® Serum: New Clinical Study Shows Benefits Beyond Hydration
New research in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology shows RHA® Serum boosts hyaluronic acid and collagen and visibly reduces wrinkles in 56 days.
New benefits and clinical findings published in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology reveal previously undocumented effects of RHA® Serum on key components of the skin : further expanding our understanding of Teoxane’s iconic skincare formula.
Beyond hydration: how RHA® Serum supports skin renewal
RHA® Serum has long been known for its hydrating and skin quality benefits. New research now shows the formula goes further than hydration: it supports some of the key components of the skin.
The research was published in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology and combines two studies:
- An ex vivo study on human skin explants, which measured hyaluronic acid and collagen.
- An in vivo clinical study over 56 days, which measured skin density, skin thickness and wrinkles.
What is in RHA® Serum? 3% crosslinked Resilient Hyaluronic Acid
RHA® Serum contains 3% crosslinked Resilient Hyaluronic Acid (RHA®), Teoxane’s signature hyaluronic acid technology. It builds on the laboratory’s long expertise in hyaluronic acid and aesthetic medicine.
Earlier studies had already shown its benefits for hydration and for skin firmness and elasticity. The new research looked at a different question: what happens beneath the visible results?
Results: more hyaluronic acid and collagen
In the ex vivo analysis, applying RHA® Serum to the skin significantly increased the amount of hyaluronic acid present. After 10 days, the study measured¹:
- +77% hyaluronic acid production
- +46% collagen I
- +17% collagen IV
These findings suggest RHA® Serum does more than hydrate the surface. It supports key components of skin structure and quality.
From science to visible results: denser, smoother skin
The clinical study confirmed these findings²:
- Dermal density increased by 50.8%
- Skin thickness increased by +30.3 µm after 2 months of use
These structural changes led to visible improvements. After 56 days, wrinkles were reduced in three areas of the face²:
- −18% crow’s feet wrinkles
- −22% cheek wrinkles
- −14% nasolabial wrinkles
- Skin roughness also fell by 7.4%
A complete approach to skin quality
Skin ageing involves more than one visible sign. Over time, the skin’s structure and composition change, which affects its density, elasticity and smoothness.
Understanding this process is central to Teoxane’s approach to aesthetic care, which treats skin quality as a key part of how skin ages. The new findings strengthen the role of advanced topical skincare in that approach.
Frequently asked questions
What does RHA® Serum do?
RHA® Serum hydrates the skin. Published research also shows it increases hyaluronic acid and collagen in the skin, improves skin density and reduces visible wrinkles.
How long does RHA® Serum take to show results?
In the clinical study, wrinkle reduction was measured after 56 days of use².
What makes RHA® Serum different from other hyaluronic acid serums?
It contains 3% crosslinked Resilient Hyaluronic Acid, the same hyaluronic acid expertise Teoxane uses in its aesthetic medicine.
